With CABEI Funds: Salvadoran Executives specialize inphotovoltaic solar energy credits

The course targets business executives from financial institutions and will provide them with specialized tools for assisting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the field of photovoltaic solar energy.

La Libertad, El Salvador, February 16, 2015. - Through its Green MSME Initiative (GMI), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), together with the National Cleaner Production Center of El Salvador and the Higher Institute of Economics and Business Administration (ISEADE, Spanish acronym), began a training course denominated, "Postgraduate Training Course for Executives and Credit Analysts in Photovoltaic Solar Energy."

The 63-hour training course will be given at the ISEADE facilities with the participation of 20 executives from the following financial institutions: Sistema FEDECREDITO, Banco de los Trabajadores de Salvadoreños BTS, Banco Hipotecario, Banco de América Central (Credomatic), Banco de Fomento Agropecuario, G&T Continental, Banco de Desarrollo de El Salvador BANDESAL, Promerica and Banco Agrícola.

Solar energy is a renewable energy source, which takes advantage of the sun’s electromagnetic radiation, harnessing heat and sunlight with collectors and photovoltaic cells, which transform it into electrical energy.

By sponsoring the development of this course, the Green MSME Initiative is once again reaffirming its interest in increasing knowledge about energy issues. On this occasion, it provided executives and credit analysts with information about the startup and implementation of solar panel investment projects in Salvadoran companies.

The Green MSME Initiative is an initiative established and implemented by CABEI with financial support from the German Government’s KfW Development Bank and the European Union’s Latin America Investment Facility (LAIF) in order to contribute to climate and environmental protection through regional MSMEs.
