Collaboration with vulnerable groups in Guatemala continues

CABEI seeks to contribute to the country's health crisis with aid and donations in different sectors.

Tegucigalpa July 24th, 2020.- With the coordination of different public and private participants, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), joins local efforts to further strengthen aid with the aim of assisting those suffering the effects of COVID-19 in the country.

In Guatemala, CABEI donated US$10,000 to the Santo Domingo Cultural and Religious Educational Association to purchase bags of food for families in vulnerable situations, especially those who have been left without the opportunity to work. With this donation the Bank hopes to reach two thousand families.

It joined the request of the Guatemalan Volunteer Center, with a donation of $ 3 thousand dollars to provide food to about 600 families in extreme vulnerability, also 200 masks were purchased.

To address the most urgent needs of the Youth Hope Association, CABEI provided a grant of US$1,500 to purchase food for 162 families of the children and youth beneficiaries of its programs.

In addition, it allocated US$3,500.00 to the Moore Guatemala Association for the purchase of supplies and medicines for 75 children awaiting cleft palate surgery.

Recently, CABEI gave a donation of US$7,000 to the Miguel Torrebiarte Sohanin Foundation for the purchase of 535 kits of personal protection suits and 40 facial protection masks which were delivered to the Ministry of Public Health for the personnel that attends the health centers.

As part of the tasks of the Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility System, CABEI has developed different actions in which it supports organizations facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
