The Bank reaffirms its commitment to achieving its environmental actions and sustainability.

Tegucigalpa, March 31, 2020.- As part of CABEI's commitment to reduce the environmental impact of the activities and operations carried out at its facilities, its Environmental Management System, which is certified under the international standard ISO 14001: 2015, has been successfully implemented at its Headquarters Building.

In the framework of its Environmental Management System, six environmental objectives related to its main environmental aspects were established in 2019, including consumption of paper, water and electricity,  renewable energy generation and proper waste management.

In order to achieve these goals, a series of actions were carried out, such as: the use of digital media and guidelines for paper reduction, environmental awareness talks for all personnel, implementation of good practices and infrastructure for the proper separation and classification of waste, channeling of its recoverable waste for recycling and generation of solar energy through its photovoltaic solar plant located on the roof of the Headquarters Building.

Thanks to these actions and the commitment of all its collaborators, the majority of the objectives were fulfilled, highlighting the following: a 33% reduction in paper consumption, recycling of 82 tons of recoverable waste and 20% solar energy consumption of the total electrical energy consumption at CABEI buildings and offices.
