CABEI grants credit facility to Multibank Inc.
The new loan is aimed at boosting foreign trade and streamlining the economy.
Panama, May 22, 2019.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted a global credit line in the amount of US$50.0 million to Multibank Inc. The credit will be aimed at improving the supply of financing in foreign trade, as well as financing to productive sectors and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector.
CABEI Country Manager for Panama, Carlos Moreno, highlighted that with this financial action the Bank will be able to strengthen regional trade by supporting the export sector to increase competitiveness in the region. In addition, the initiative will make available to financial intermediaries and small entrepreneurs an offer of financial products and services to increase productivity and boost business in the region.
The credit falls under the framework of the CABEI 2015-2019 Institutional Strategy, "Integrating Sustainable Development and Competitiveness," which focuses on contributing to the generation of employment, economic growth and promotion of commercial and social activity by means of financial intermediation.
