CABEI awards 2014 photography contest

A Costa Rican wins the sole 2014 CABEI Photography Contest.

San Jose, 28 November 2014- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), awarded the only prize of the 2014 CABEI Photography Contest to photojournalist Jorge Castillo who is editor of the group La Nación of Costa Rica with its work on the Reventazon hydroelectric project.

The award, which consists of US $ 4,000 dollars, is awarded taking into account the subject, composition and quality of the photographs; factors such as the technical complexity in capturing the image were also deciding factors for the selection of the winning piece.
In addition, honorable mentions were awarded to Danny Sinoé Velásquez for the Improvement Project of the CA-5 Highway segment I photography and to Enrique Sandoval for the Cerro de Hula Wind Project photography, both located in Honduras.

75 art pieces from professional photographers, photojournalists and fans throughout the region participated in this contest opportunity.

CABEI’s Executive President Nick Rischbieth affirmed that this initiative allows to disseminate the impact of the interventions of the multilateral projects and its inhabitants through images that speak for themselves for the strategic partner in Central America.
