CABEI and Banrural sign US$15 million credit line.

Tegucigalpa, February 20, 2019.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and Banco de Desarrollo Rural Honduras, S.A. (Banrural Honduras), signed a contract to open a  Global Credit Line (GCL) for an amount of US$15.0 million.

This line of credit granted by CABEI will enable Banrural Honduras to expand its business capacity mainly to strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promote foreign trade.

The agreement signing ceremony was led by the General Manager of Banrural Honduras, Natanael Euceda, and CABEI Country Manager for Honduras, Manuel Torres, who ratified the Bank's commitment to the strengthening of the regional financial system, increasing access to credit for low-income communities and fostering entrepreneurism and support for MSMEs.

It is noteworthy that this is the first GCL that CABEI grants to BANRURAL Honduras; however, BANRURAL Guatemala has been a client of CABEI since 1999 with a GCL that currently has a limit of up to US$60.0 million.

Banrural Honduras is a 100% subsidiary of Banrural Guatemala, which has private and multisectoral capital for its operations. It opened its doors in December 2014 and seeks to differentiate itself by providing products and services aimed at the micro, small and medium businessman, craftsman and farmer through quality attention and the establishment of long-term relationships with its clients.
