CABEI publishes a Guide to Good Integrity Practices for Executing Units
Buenos Aires, September 6th, 2023.- With the purpose of strengthening technical capacities in the area of integrity in the public institutions of its member countries, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) recently launched in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a " Guide to Good Integrity Practices for Executing Units".
The document, promoted by CABEI through its Integrity and Compliance Office (OFIC), will help reduce the risk of Prohibited Practices in projects financed by the Bank. It will be socialized and complemented through the development of five virtual training modules in the different countries in which tools will be provided for the application of best practices in anti-corruption, procurement fraud prevention, environmental and social safeguards and access to information, among other aspects.
Ms. Graciela Cortiñas, Director of Projects with External Financing of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity of Argentina, participated in the launching of the initiative. CABEI was represented by Felipe Solá, Director for Argentina and Colombia, Juan Mourra, Risk Manager, Rennie Valladares, Chief of the Integrity and Compliance Office, and Sebastián Tortorice, Chief Country Officer in Argentina.
CABEI reiterates its commitment to promote a culture of "Zero Tolerance" to fraud, corruption and other prohibited practices and makes available to the public mechanisms to receive reports/complaints regarding possible irregularities, commission of prohibited practices or non-compliance with regulations in the use of funds or resources administered by the Bank.
