02/02/2024

Tegucigalpa, February 02, 2024.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has initiated a fundamental consultation process that will lay the groundwork for the formulation of its new Institutional Strategy 2025-2029.

The objective of this exercise is to obtain opinions and inputs for the strategy document that will mainly contribute to broadening the understanding of the countries' development conditions, priorities and perspectives, as well as stakeholders' perceptions of CABEI's role as a facilitator of their countries' development agenda, and to structure a development support offer that is in line with member expectations regarding the role CABEI should play in reducing the economic, social and environmental gaps faced by the region.

The process will be carried out in accordance with the international standards of openness, visibility and transparency that are Multilateral Banking practices. It will also favor the creation of an inclusive proposal that strengthens the quality, scope and impact of the new strategy in line with the Bank's financial and operational capacities.

CABEI Executive President Gisela Sánchez stated, "Over the next four to five months, we will focus on developing the Bank's new strategy. We anticipate that it will be a balanced strategy, addressing three fundamental dimensions: economic, social and environmental.

CABEI invites the general public to be part of the Bank's positive transformation and the development of the Central American region.
