San José, December 15th, 2023 - Committed to corporate social responsibility and the well-being of the Costa Rican community, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a donation to the DíaVida Association for the benefit of children and youth with diabetes.

The resources will enable the local non-profit organization to purchase special glucometers and pen-like blood glucose monitoring devices that make it easier for children to test their blood sugar with a painless lancet, significantly improving their daily experience with disease management.

In addition, this contribution will also subsidize part of the Camp "Under the Stars" that the Foundation will hold on January 26th, 27th and 28th, 2024 with the objective of training and assisting children and youth with diabetes between the ages of 10 and 20, from all areas of the country and from all socioeconomic levels, offering them recreational and experiential training activities such as nutrition, mental health, personal communication, social integration, new technologies and diabetes education.

This dynamic seeks to give each participant the opportunity to identify themselves as part of a community that shares similar situations and has tools available to better manage their condition on a daily basis.

CABEI's support, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility System #SASC, not only provides essential resources to improve the quality of life of children and youth with diabetes, but also contributes to awareness, prevention and early treatment; it also strengthens the bonds of solidarity and support for a healthier and more hopeful future for all.
