CABEI, Belize's Bank. 

Belize has been a non-founding CABEI regional member since 2006. It currently has an active portfolio of US$11.00 million to guarantee citizen security by strengthening national security institutions through investments in infrastructure and equipment.

In the 2020-2021 period, three emergency grants were awarded for US$2.0 million to address the emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the damage caused by Hurricane Eta.

CABEI approves Non-Refundable Financial Cooperation for repairs to the Corozal Free Zone highway in Belize

Tegucigalpa January 05, 2022.- The Board of Directors of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved on Wednesday a Non-Refundable Financial Cooperation to conduct repairs of the access road to the Corozal Free Zone in Belize.

In this way, the Bank will support Belize with the repair of 1.6 kilometers of the access road to the Corozal Free Zone, northern border of Santa Elena border with Mexico, for an amount of US$974,037.02.

CABEI’s executive president, Dr. Dante Mossi said that “we are pleased to support the Republic of Belize with this donation that will  improve the conditions of access to this area, making it more conducive for visitors and their trade, contributing to the economic growth of this area.”

The rehabilitation of this route foresees to improve productivity, promote regional integration;  favor the local and international commercial and transport sector with the reduction of costs and transfer times.
