Colombia joined CABEI as an extra-regional member in 1997. It holds 3.07% of the Bank's shareholding and at the close of 2020, it had an authorized capital of USD203.00 million with capital payments of USD36.25 million. During 2020, CABEI support to the country was aimed at addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of hurricanes Eta and Iota.

Credit facility for an amount of US$160.0 million seeks to strengthen regional trade.

Tegucigalpa, November 7, 2018.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) extended to US$160.0 million a credit facility in favor of Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, Sociedad Anónima (Bladex).

The agreement signing ceremony was presided over by the CABEI Executive President, Dr. Nick Rischbieth, and the Executive President of Bladex, Gabriel Tolchinsky.

During the signing event, Dr. Nick Rischbieth stressed that with this financial action the Bank can strengthen regional trade by supporting the export sector, thereby improving the competitiveness of the region.

Bladex focuses mainly on its foreign trade operations and complements them with working capital operations and syndicated and structured solutions.
