Exchange of experiences at Conference on financing for the development of Cuba

The event had the participation of CABEI and was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), the Central Bank of Cuba, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), following up on the Joint Program “Support for the formation of an Integrated National Financing Framework for the SDGs in Cuba.”

Tegucigalpa May 16, 2024.- Highlighting the multilateral's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development, representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), participated in the “Conference on Financing for Development Havana 2024” on May 16 and 17.

The meeting brought together delegates from international financial institutions and cooperation actors and government institutions to discuss new sources and initiatives aimed at strengthening the economy and improving the country's living conditions.

The executive vice president of CABEI, Mr. Jaime Díaz, participated in the panel called: “Role of Financing as an accelerator of the 2030 Agenda” together with the secretary of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), Alejandra Claros, and the representative of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cuba, Tatsuya Ashida.

“We are proud to collaborate with local and regional partners to identify and fund programs and projects that address fundamental challenges in areas such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and the environment,” said Díaz during his participation.

These efforts are part of CABEI's commitment to maximizing the positive impact in the countries it serves.
