CABEI Executive President Dante Mossi receives recognition from the Republic of China (Taiwan)

Dr. Mossi was awarded with “the Order of Brilliant Star with Violet Grand Cordon” during the multilateral's mission to Taipei in recognition of the efforts made for the development of the Central American region.

Taipei, August 1st, 2022 .- For his support to the development of the countries of the region and for promoting initiatives focused on poverty reduction and the well-being of Central American families, the President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, received an award from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on Monday.

The award was presented personally during the multilateral work tour in Taipei by the Minister of MOFA, Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu  whom Dr. Mossi thanked, stating: "It fills me with satisfaction to receive this recognition from a nation that, in 30 years of having joined CABEI, has been unconditional for Central Americans at times when they have needed it most. We continue in the spirit of unifying our efforts for the development of our countries.”

With the highest shareholding in CABEI (11.42%), the Republic of China (Taiwan) is one of the first extra-regional members to join in 1992, and since then has made important contributions to the region in the form of financial cooperation for an aggregate amount of more than US$267 million. Since then, it has made significant contributions to the region in the form of financial cooperation totaling more than US$267 million and non-reimbursable facilities totaling more than US$9.7 million in key areas for the fight against poverty, such as food security, education, agriculture, financing for MSMEs, agribusiness, cefé, exports, among others.

Dr. Mossi has served as CABEI's Executive President since December 1st, 2018, and is the highest authority of Senior Management, as well as the institution's legal representative.
