CABEI-Solidarios Awards will recognize outstanding microenterprises in Latin America


The registration process is open until September 6, 2021.

Santo Domingo, July 21st, 2021.- With the aim of highlighting the impact of entrepreneurship and microfinance on the financial inclusion processes of vulnerable people and the economic dynamics of the Latin American region's countries, the CABEI-SOLIDARIOS Awards initiative was launched on Wednesday, sponsored by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, underscored the importance of establishing a closer relationship with the region's microentrepreneurs and indicated that the purpose of these awards is to encourage the sector by promoting, supporting and disseminating their ideas and solidarity projects.

At the awards launching event held at the Bank's representative office in the Dominican Republic, the members of the jury were announced, while the award categories were presented to the public and the evaluation and selection process was explained, through which the microentrepreneurs who have stood out and have been a reference in their communities and who have the most impressive life stories will be awarded.

CABEI and the Dominican government, together with the private sector, through Solidarios, encourage this sector to develop and promote the generation of jobs that translate into a better quality of life in the region's countries," said Hostos Rizik, Director of the Dominican Republic at CABEI.

The call is open to nominations from companies publicly recognized as active in the microfinance sector in Argentina, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela, preferably registered with the Central American and Caribbean Microfinance Network (REDCAMIF).
