Thanks to the efforts of its collaborators and suppliers, CABEI, through its Environmental Management System, helps to reduce the environmental impacts generated by the administrative and operational activities carried out in the headquarters building, thus favoring the sustainability of the region.

Tegucigalpa, July 22, 2020.- After a follow-up audit, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) achieved, for the second consecutive year, the Environmental Management System certification for its headquarters building, achieving zero non-conformities.

For years, CABEI has maintained a firm commitment to the efficient management of natural resources and to sustainable development, reflected in its Environmental and Social Policy. This commitment is also in line with its 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy that establishes environmental and social sustainability as a transversal issue.

In 2019 the CABEI's headquarters building received the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Certification, which accredits them as environmentally sustainable, promoting good practices related to their main environmental aspects: paper, water and electricity consumption; renewable energy generation and adequate waste management.

The implementation of this action is part of the component of the Environmental and Social Responsibility System that seeks to strategically address the environmental and social challenges and opportunities of the Central American region.

What happens at Headquarters is gradually and successfully extended to the rest of CABEI's offices in Central America.
