CABEI holds its Board of Directors meeting in Argentina for the first time

As part of the work agenda, initiatives for the development of its member countries were reviewed and approved.

Buenos Aires, November 2nd, 2022.- Within the framework of the opening of its Representative Office, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) held its first Board of Directors meeting in the country, a meeting where member countries of the multilateral analyze and approve initiatives with a positive impact on social, economic and environmental development.

"The relationship of our Development Bank grows and strengthens day by day, opening the way to new opportunities, and on this occasion, we have been able to bring Argentina and the Central American region closer together," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

The Board of Directors approved initiatives related to the health and social development sector, such as the US$25 million program to support the "Casa Amor" construction plan, which will enable patients to attend diagnostic and treatment appointments in Argentina, and the US$30 million Ambulance Supply Program, which will benefit more than 9 million Dominicans through the acquisition of 200 new ambulances. Among other programs and projects to benefit its member countries Guatemala and El Salvador.

In addition, in the coming days the delegation will visit the Bicentennial Hospital of Ituzaingó, as part of the follow-up to the "Program for the Care of the Elderly Population", which is expected to benefit more than 5 million people with better access to health care through infrastructure, equipment and medicines.

CABEI has benefited the Argentine population through nine operations currently approved to support sectors such as science and technology, agriculture, gender equity, digital transformation of SMEs, among others, totaling US$394.0 million.
