The training was conducted as part of the "CABEI Communicators Network" support and outreach program.

Tegucigalpa, October 21st, 2022.- In order to maintain a closer relationship with journalists in the region through the exchange of experiences and training to provide them with high quality tools to strengthen their profession, this Friday the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) held the virtual workshop "Digital Journalistic Trends", which was attended by more than 60 professionals working in the media in Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

"It is an honor for CABEI to bring together and promote good practices among communication professionals, since it is through them that citizens learn about situations that improve or harm their quality of life, which is why we will continue to promote these types of spaces as part of our Communicators Network, a collaborative space for interaction and exchange of experiences and knowledge among media journalists and communicators from public and private institutions," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

The workshop addressed topics such as vertical journalistic narrative by the director of Cobertura Digital.com, Christian Espinosa, who is a university professor with more than 20 years of experience specializing in mobile narrative and online crisis.

"What was once a sacrilege, is now positioned as a solid trend for 2023: vertical storytelling has become the format with the greatest impact for communication. Publishers are looking for specialized producers or new profiles with experience in vertical content to reach all generations," said Espinosa.

The second speaker was the director of Latin American Communication Monitor, Alejandro Alvarez Nobell, who is a research professor at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Malaga, Spain, and was responsible for explaining the CommTech phenomenon.

"The CommTech concept refers to digital technologies for managing and executing basic activities such as communicating with stakeholders, advising decision makers, and for the internal functioning of communications departments," Alvarez explained.

He also presented the progress of the Latin American Communication Monitor (LCM) 2022- 2023 survey, which he highlighted as the largest study on public relations and strategic communication that currently exists worldwide and which is still open for communication professionals to participate through the following link: https://latincommunicationmonitor.com/
