New resources approved for the Guatemalan MSME sector

With these resources, CABEI will contribute to strengthening the credit line of Banrural S.A. to mainly finance MSMEs and productive sectors.

Tegucigalpa, December 12, 2019.- Today, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved an increase to the Global Credit Line (GCL) of "Banco de Desarrollo Rural, S.A. (Banrural)" of the Republic of Guatemala for an amount of up to US$60 million to finance projects under any of the CABEI financial intermediation programs; the latter results in the GCL reaching an amount of US$120 million.

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, stated  that, "The operation seeks to promote the growth and competitiveness of the productive sectors and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are the main source of employment in the Central American region."

BANRURAL has been part of CABEI's intermediary financial institution (IFI) network for more than 20 years with differentiated products towards the productive sectors, MSMEs and the general public. Furthermore, BANRURAL is an important ally of CABEI for the placement of resources that promote financial inclusion in the Republic of Guatemala, allowing to reach the target beneficiaries.
