Entities in the region promote discussion spaces to improve financial solutions for the enterprises of the countries that make up the Central American Integration System.

Tegucigalpa, October 23, 2018.- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a particular importance for the economies of the region, not only for their contributions to the production and distribution of goods and services, but also for their flexibility to adapt to technological changes and great potential for job creation. As the financial arm of the Central American region, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has been consolidating itself as a leader in the development of this business sector, fostering the creation of financial products that promote this type of economic growth initiatives.

The second SICA Emprende meeting denominated, “Promotion of angel investment in the region,” was the ideal scenario to present the scope of CABEI's programs with which it provides support to MSMEs with a focus on innovation, including its Green MSME Initiative and seed capital program ‘DINAMICA Initiative.’

Furthermore, the meeting presented the opportunity to talk about the program to strengthen financial intermediation in order to facilitate access to credits to MSME owners and provide them with an opportunity to boost their activities and increase their development, which will contribute to the generation of employment and wealth in the framework of sustainable development.

An "angel investment" is characterized by providing financing, as well as advice from the experience and knowledge of an investor, establishing contacts of potential customers, suppliers and investors, as well as generating synergies with companies of the same investor and in some cases recruitment of personnel.
The event was organized by the Regional MSME Promotion Center (CENPROMYPE) and had the support of organizations and entities such as the European Union, the Ministries of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic and Colombia, INNPULSA and Banreservas, which, like CABEI, are committed to MSMEs as a key factor for the development of the region.
