More than 200 Costa Rican artists participated in the second Song Festival held with the support of CABEI

The 2024 National Song Festival was held in San José recently.
San José, July 5, 2024. – Demonstrating its commitment to the well-being of Central Americans through the promotion of culture, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) sponsored, for the second consecutive year, the National Song Festival (FENC-CR), which brought together 217 participants who entered their songs in the important national contest.
From the numerous entries, 10 songs were preselected for the grand finale that took place at an awards gala with a renowned jury and audience present with the distinguished participation of the governor for Costa Rica before CABEI, Nogui Acosta, the director for Costa Rica before CABEI, Erwen Masís, and the CABEI manager in the country, Álvaro Alfaro.
The director for Costa Rica before CABEI, Erwen Masís, highlighted: "Music and culture have an extraordinary formative and transformative power for society. They not only unite people and strengthen our identity, but they also inspire and drive us to dream of a better future. CABEI is proud to support initiatives like the FENC-CR, which celebrate and promote the artistic talent of our region".
The night culminated with the exciting victory of "Traigo", by singer-songwriter Armando Román, who not only took the title of best song, but also the right to represent Costa Rica at the Festival of Punta del Este, Uruguay, next November.
CABEI thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting culture and the arts, convinced that these are essential tools for the sustainable development and well-being of people in Central America.
