Guatemala City, May 29, 2024.- With the purpose of stimulating business skills, promoting business development, and publicizing financial options for the entrepreneurial ecosystem and MSMEs, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) supported the development of the Western Business Forum Ox in the city of Quetzaltenango, an event organized by Win.gt under the concept of Training Day that focuses on digital transformation, technology, and disruptive ideas.

At the event, held for the first time in this region to boost local economies, CABEI financing programs were presented to meet the capital needs of micro-, small-, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) with special attention to those with female leadership.

The Bank also shared about the CAMBio program, an initiative that seeks to support MSMEs in their productive investments to improve their capacity for climate adaptation. Both programs are complemented with technical assistance and training resources, among other incentives with the potential to catalyze business growth.

The director for Guatemala before CABEI, Mario Jacobs, highlighted that “Creating better opportunities for the benefit of MSMEs is essential to generate economic development, employability, and better income for families, which is why CABEI will continue to make available to this important sector of the economy financial solutions and technical assistance to improve climate resilience and strengthen the entrepreneurial role of women”

This immersion event to adopt new ideas, tools, and networking spaces had the participation of 500 people from the departments of Quetzaltenango, Huehuetenango, Quiché, Totonicapán, San Marcos, and Sololá, as well as renowned speakers on technology and disruption topics with a broad context of the local market.
