More than US$10,000 has been donated to various foundations in the country.

Panama City, November 17th, 2022 - In solidarity and contributing to improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups in different areas of Panama, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has made donations this year in the amount of US$10,000.

"Through our Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility System (SASC), we reinforce our commitment to lend a helping hand to those who need it most by identifying, with social welfare organizations in our countries in the region, how we can support them. In the long term, social inclusion guarantees greater opportunities for social inclusion and human development, fundamental pillars of the work that our Bank carries out on a daily basis," saidCABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.

The contributions were US$4,000 to Casa Esperanza Pro Rescate del Niño en La Calle, to provide development opportunities for 200 children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and 17 from the Ngäbe Buglé ethnic group who generate income for their families in Boquete, Chiriquí; and the same amount went to the Asociación Panameña de Ayuda al Niño Quemado (APANIQUEM) for the benefit of approximately 1,000 low-income patients in the metropolitan area and the interior of the country.

Another US$2,000 was granted to the Asociación Cristiana para la Rehabilitación y Reinserción de Marginados de Panamá (REMAR), to enable them to continue their work of providing housing and food to people at social risk, with addiction problems, street dwellers and the mentally handicapped.

In addition, US$1,000 was donated to the Carmen Conte Lombardo Foundation for specialized medical care and rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities, and another US$500 to Procomedores Infantiles, to mitigate cases of child malnutrition.

Likewise, CABEI, aware of the importance of the development of art and culture in human development, made a donation of $2,350.00 in support of Teatro el Ángel to promote projects for the staging of two plays during the summer of 2023 in Panama, thus contributing to the promotion of this important discipline of the country's cultural expression.
