The Central American Bank for Economic Integration's Board of Directors is the body responsible for its management. At its meeting in Madrid, it will approve initiatives for the development of its member countries.

Madrid, March 27, 2023 - For the first time, this week Spain will host the Board of Directors of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), which will meet from March 27th to 31st at its recently inaugurated office in Madrid. The main multilateral financial institution in Central America thus strengthens its cooperation with Spain after eighteen years of alliance through its incorporation as an extra-regional member.

CABEI's Board of Directors is the body responsible for managing the Bank and has powers delegated to it by CABEI's Assembly of Governors (the countries' Ministers of Finance and Treasury). It is made up of 15 representatives appointed by the governments and its responsibilities include the analysis and approval of public and private sector programs, plans and projects for the benefit of its member countries.

"We are celebrating this important meeting for the first time in Spain, where we inaugurated our offices in Madrid in February and with whom we are increasingly strengthening our cooperation ties, as this country is Central America's gateway to Europe. On this occasion, we hope to analyze various initiatives to benefit Central American families, in addition to meeting with different companies interested in investing in the region," said CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

During the mission in Madrid, a forum will be held to introduce CABEI, organized jointly with Spain's Export and Investment Institute (ICEX), a space where attendees will be able to learn about the multilateral institution's actions and learn about its 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, as well as its main axes for promoting economic growth in the Central American region.
