CABEI participates in the first edition of the "Belize Development Partners Forum."

Tegucigalpa, May 10th, 2022.- To initiate a space for dialogue among multilateral development institutions, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) participated in the first edition of the "Belize Development Partners Forum," held in Plancencia, Belize.

Through this meeting, a coordination mechanism will be established that will provide opportunities for Belize's multilateral partners to coordinate and collaborate on activities in relevant sectors in the country and to avoid duplication of efforts among development partners. It will also promote greater effectiveness and impact of specific partner engagement strategies with the country towards established national outcomes.

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi highlighted "we hope to actively participate in these roundtables to establish a link between the Development Partners and the priorities of the Government of Belize contained in the Belize Plan Development Strategy" and also to "communicate the benefits and opportunities of inclusive business to the communities."

In light of the above, CABEI presented the actions being implemented in the country, including the latest loan approved for the partner country for US$24 million.

The meeting was also attended by officials and representatives from the following entities: The World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Union, UNDP, UNICEF, and for CABEI, executives Kertin Morales and Elan Tabora were present.
