DINAMICA Initiative and MSME Business Development Center support Honduran enterprises

Agreement signed for US$30 thousand to streamline MSMEs in the Western region of Honduras with the support of the European Union, the Government of Germany, through its KfW Development Bank, and CABEI.

Tegucigalpa, November 21, 2019-. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), as the executing entity of the Initiative for the Development of Business Ideas and Acceleration of Central American MSMEs (DINAMICA Initiative), signed a non-reimbursable technical cooperation agreement for an amount of up to US$30,000.00 with the MSME Business Development Center of the Western Region.

The agreement is signed with the objective of reinforcing the Project, “Strengthening Innovation and Business Planning Processes in 10 MSMEs,” which are led by Women and Men of the Lenca and Maya Chortí ethnic group in the Western Region of Honduras.

The cooperation agreement involves providing specialized technical advice for business planning and innovation processes of MSMEs attended in the Western Region with special emphasis on 10 tourism initiatives led by women and men of the Lenca and Maya Chortí ethnic group.

It will also allow to diagnose the current situation of the MSME sector in the western region of Honduras, define intervention strategies to strengthen the sector and support the process of formulating models and business plans of each enterprise attended.

The project is part of the DINAMICA Initiative, which is implemented by CABEI with resources from the European Union, through its Latin America Investment Facility (LAIF). The latter donated technical assistance resources to promote the development of financial products targeted at new, young and/or innovative MSMEs and foster transparency and responsible financing in financial institutions at a regional level.
