With CABEI's support, 150 regional enterprises participated in a contest in which the most innovative projects were recognized

• “Startup Awards” took place on Saturday, November 12 in the city of San José, organized by the University Agency for Entrepreneurship Management of the University of Costa Rica (AUGE-UCR), and co-organized by the Initiative DYNAMICS II of CABEI, European Union and KfW of the German government.

San José, November 14th, 2022.- A total of 150 entrepreneurs from the Central American region strengthened their business and innovation capabilities at the "Startup Awards 2022" that took place on Saturday, Saturday, November 12 in the city of San José, with the support of the DINAMICA II, Initiative of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the European Union as part of its Latin American Investment Facility (LAIF) and the Government of Germany through KfW.

The event was held as a prelude to the Global Entrepreneurship Week, and there were a variety of activities such as a startup fair and conferences aimed at generating a learning experience, as well as a contest where the best startups competed in three categories: best business idea, startup and scale up of the year.

"As the Bank of Central Americans, we are enthusiastic about supporting this type of initiative that allows us to transform innovative ideas into businesses that will later add to the economic activity of our countries," said CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.

This activity, which allowed to showcase ventures with high growth potential both locally and internationally, was organized by Auge of the University of Costa Rica and co-organized by the DINAMICA Initiative II, with a contribution of US$25,000.

DINAMICA is a tripartite initiative of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) as executing agency, the Government of Germany through KfW and the European Union as part of its Latin American Investment Facility (LAIF).  Its main objective is to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem for MSMEs and especially for new, young and/or innovative MSMEs. This approach also includes strengthening the financial sector at the regional level to foster adequate access to financial services for these MSMEs.
