San Salvador. - With the conviction that promoting reading skills and an understanding of culture are indispensable tools for individual and social development, volunteers from CABEI’s Regional Office in El Salvador made a donation of books to the Onuva School library.

The CABEI volunteers carried out a program called "Libretón 2012" to collect new or used books in good condition, which were then delivered to the student community of the Onuva School in El Volcán, San Salvador.

The CABEI-sponsored activity led to the donation of 332 primary school and high school textbooks, in addition to writing paper, notebooks, pencils and colored construction paper.

This CABEI effort is part of the Bank’s Institutional Responsibility Plan, which targets development and the continuous adoption of best practices in order to successfully contribute to social improvement.
