CABEI promotes change and makes efforts to be economically, socially and environmentally responsible.

As part of its Institutional Responsibility Plan, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) promotes environmental-awareness raising activities with its collaborators.

To that end, last weekend a group of volunteers from CABEI’s Regional Office in El Salvador and their families, in collaboration with the Salvadoran Zoological Foundation (FUNZEL, Spanish acronym), participated in an admirable ecological activity aimed at improving the sustainability of the country’s marine fauna. The activity was called "Sponsoring the Conservation of Sea Turtles in El Salvador.”

The group of CABEI collaborators was led by the Manager of the El Salvador Regional Office, Mr. Raúl Castaneda, who said that the Institutional Responsibility Plan promoted by the Bank is an integral and dynamic process, which seeks to foster creative activities to raise the collaborators’ consciousness about the importance of environmental conservation through activities that also strengthen teamwork.

After an awareness raising presentation, the CABEI collaborators and FUNZEL’s specialized personnel released about a hundred turtle hatchlings at the Playa San Diego beach in La Libertad so they could begin their life in the sea off the Salvadoran coast. Subsequently, the group proceeded to clean up the beach where the hatchlings had been released in order to conserve the environmental value, in terms of natural and cultural resources, of an important ecological area.
