CABEI opens call for nominations for the Review Committee, a key step toward strengthening transparency and integrity in its management

Tegucigalpa, april 21, 2025 –  The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) announces the opening of the call for nominations for the Review Committee, a new independent body that will play a key role in the Bank's appeals processes regarding integrity and access to information.

This Committee shall be composed of three persons external and independent of the Bank, responsible for hearing and resolving appeals against decisions of the Integrity Committee relating to the imposition of sanctions, in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Fraud, Anti-Corruption, and Other Prohibited Practices Policy. Likewise, in compliance with the new Access to Information Policy, This body will review appeals in the second instance against denials of access to information, in line with international standards in this area.

“The creation of this Committee reinforces our commitment to ethical governance and access to information, fundamental pillars for a more open Bank that is closer to the region,” said CABEI Executive President Gisela Sánchez. For his part, the Titular Director for Argentina and Colombia and President of the Communications and Access to Information Committee, Carlos Sanguinetti, said: “This is a key step in strengthening confidence in our processes and ensuring that decisions are reviewed with complete independence and rigor.

CABEI invites legal professionals with extensive and recognized experience in judicial proceedings, administrative sanctioning procedures, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to submit their candidacies for membership in this Committee. The selection will be made through a competitive process based on technical criteria and excellence. Those selected will be appointed by the Board of Directors, in accordance with the proposal submitted by the Executive Presidency.
