CABEI expands opportunities at the “Seminar on the Strategy of Participation in Development Cooperation”

Seoul, March 11, 2025. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) participated in the “Information Seminar on the Strategy of Participation in Development Cooperation” in the Republic of Korea.
This event, organized by Kodabiz in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea (MOFA), brought together key financial institutions including EximBank, the Public Procurement Service (PPS), ICT companies and other stakeholders interested in investing in foreign markets. The seminar provided opportunities for the private sector to partner with experienced development agencies and banks, facilitating market entry while mitigating investment risks.
During the seminar, CABEI´s Korea Office shared insights into current projects involving Korean companies, such as Dongbu Corporation´s participation in the Los Chorros project in El Salvador. Additionally, it highlighted the diverse cooperation opportunities available in the region with its abundant resources, demonstrated through the subscription of the Free Trade Agreement between Korea and Central America. The seminar also provided guidance on CABEI´s procurement platform, addressing challenges faced by companies in the registration of suppliers, submission of the correct documents and the difference between the two procurement systems, among others.
The Korea Office reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation between Korea and Central America, continuing to serve as a strategic bridge between both. Also, it aims to explore new business opportunities and enhance investment prospects that will benefit both regions.
