CABEI becomes the first multilateral to host the Transparency and Access to Information Network (RTA) meeting

The Bank will host this meeting to promote a comprehensive vision of access to information as a key component for promoting sustainable development.
Tegucigalpa, May 15, 2024 – The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) will host the Transparency and Access to Information Network (RTA) to be held at its headquarters in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in November of this year. This event will mark a milestone, as CABEI is the first multilateral institution to host a meeting of this prestigious network, the world's most important regional space for transparency and access to information.
The RTA, established in 2011, brings together Ibero-American authorities responsible for guaranteeing the right of access to information. Its objective is to maintain a permanent and formal space for dialogue, cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences among its members. In April 2023, CABEI joined this Network to learn about other practices in this area and strengthen the implementation of its Access to Information Policy.
CABEI is proud to host this meeting, which will bring numerous benefits, including fostering a culture of accountability among its personnel. It will also allow Central American organizations and citizens to learn more about the important work of the RTA in promoting more open and transparent societies.
As part of the meeting, a series of public events will be held to promote and disseminate knowledge about the importance of transparency and access to information at the regional level. CABEI invites the national and international community to participate in the activities and to keep an eye out for the agenda of these events, which will be released soon.
The Bank reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability and openness. The organization of this event is a further step in the implementation of its transformative Access to Information Policy, effective April 1, 2021.
