CABEI and Green Climate Fund join efforts in integrity issues

The objective of the memorandum is to establish a framework that facilitates cooperation on issues of institutional integrity and research activities related to prohibited practices.

Tegucigalpa, December 19, 2017.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Green Climate Fund (GFC) for mutual cooperation in institutional integrity issues and investigative activities related to prohibited practices. 

The recently signed MoU complements the Master Accreditation Agreement (AMA), which contains a clause that requires the Accredited Entity to provide the GCF Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) with reasonable assistance to the performance of its functions and to promote cooperation with CABEI´s Integrity and Compliance Office.

The multilateral seeks to strengthen and comply with international norms and procedures in matters of integrity and activities related to investigations of prohibited practices. The cooperation agreement covers areas ranging from the exchange of information to detect and prevent fraud and corruption to joint investigations.

With the signing of this memorandum, CABEI reaffirms its commitment to foster cooperation in matters of integrity, with a view to sharing best practices and carrying out efficient work in the research activities of operations financed with the resources of the GCF that will be administered by the multilateral.
