Tegucigalpa, Honduras June 13, 2024. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), through the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES for its acronym in Spanish), announce a convocation of 15 scholarships aimed at public officials from CABEI member countries for the international course “Open State in Latin America and the Caribbean”.

The Bank supports this initiative as part of its commitment to disseminate knowledge on transparency, accountability, and candor, with the goal of maximizing the impact of its Access to Information Policy. The purpose of this program is to provide conceptual and practical knowledge for the formulation of government transparency, citizen participation, and government-citizen collaboration initiatives.

The course will be held from October 16 to November 29, 2024 and will consist of two phases, one virtual and one face-to-face, in which CABEI will share its experience regarding the implementation of its Policy. The phases of the program are made up as follows:

  • Virtual Phase: October 16 - November 13, 2024 (20 teaching hours spread over 4 weeks through ECLAC's remote learning platform).
  • Face-to-face phase: November 25 - November 29, 2024 (40 teaching hours to be held at the ECLAC Subregional Headquarters in Mexico City).
