At the Ninth Summit of the Americas, the multilateral Central American countries reaffirmed their commitment to promote more sustainable, inclusive economic and social integration.

Tegucigalpa, June 10th, 2022.- With the intention of supporting the commitments of the Ninth Summit of the Americas, whose theme was "Building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future", the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), together with the High Authorities of the member institutions of the Joint Summit Working Group (JSWG), reaffirms its willingness to redouble its efforts to address the challenges facing the region through the adoption of the Declaration on the occasion of the Summit.

CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, explained that "issues such as health, clean energy, climate change, digital transformation and governance are of utmost relevance, particularly for the Central American region, and today we must be convinced that all actors must become actively involved in order to contribute to building a more sustainable, resilient and equitable future for our future generations."

It is worth noting that the aforementioned aspects are all those in which CABEI has proactively intervened through its Environmental and Social Sustainability axis, understanding the importance and urgent need to promote collaboration and joint support for the benefit of those most in need.

CABEI is advancing in the implementation of its institutional purpose by integrating its Institutional Strategy 2020-2024, its modalities and financial instruments.

In this regard, Mossi highlighted that "CABEI has maintained consistent profitability levels that compare favorably with those of other multilateral development banks. These results are tangible thanks to the application of conservative financial policies, which allow it to consolidate its position as the leader in channeling resources to the Central American region."
