The memorandum of understanding will make it possible to promote cooperation and develop financial instruments for greater economic growth and well-being in the region.

Tegucigalpa, September 2, 2022.– With the objective of promoting bilateral cooperation and promoting compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the promotion of innovative financial instruments in the region, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the United Nations Development Coordination Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (DCO LAC) signed a memorandum of understanding.

The agreement establishes supporting initiatives aligned with the cooperation frameworks for sustainable development of the United Nations country teams and their Development System in the region, as well as those established in the CABEI Institutional Strategy.

"We are pleased with this alliance with a partner of the caliber of the United Nations, with whom we will be able to strengthen the actions that are carried out for the benefit of the countries of the region, since the planned collaboration seeks to implement financing initiatives including the design of technical assistance, as well as specific studies, among others,” explained Mossi.

An event to formalize this alliance held this Friday had the participation of the executive president of CABEI, Dr. Dante Mossi; the director for Argentina for CABEI, Maximiliano Alonso; the regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Coordination Office, Mr. Roberto Valent; and the Resident Coordinator of Honduras of the United Nations, Ms. Alice Shackelford.

CABEI, within its 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, emphasizes its interest in accompanying partner countries in their efforts to reach new levels of economic development and better well-being opportunities, this through strategic alliances that allow creating the necessary conditions for the development of projects that have a positive impact on the population.
