CABEI and COHEP sign collaboration agreement to develop actions to strengthen the Honduran private sector
Tegucigalpa, May 31st, 2021. – In order to identify opportunities of mutual interest to support Honduras' development, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP) on Monday.
The memorandum's objective is to formalize a general non-exclusive collaboration framework within which both Parties will identify, develop, coordinate and/or execute joint programs and activities to achieve their strategic objectives in different collaboration areas such as: business opportunities, exchange of practices and experiences, formulation of initiatives to promote development and investment in Honduras, identification of related activities to address emergencies, among others.
CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi stated: "We are pleased to strengthen our ties with COHEP, an organization through which we will be able to support the commercial and investment strengthening of the 70 member organizations from all of the country's productive sectors.”
For his part, Mr. Juan Carlos Sikaffy, COHEP's president, said: "We are grateful for the trust placed in COHEP, trust that has materialized in a positive way with the donation of resources to support the San Juan Pablo II Stabilization Center. We are confident that this alliance will benefit the Honduran people in different areas in the future.”
The signatories of the memorandum were Dr. Mossi, representing CABEI; Mr. Juan Carlos Sikaffy, COHEP's Executive President; and as a witness of honor, Ms. Catherine Chang, CABEI Director for the Republic of Honduras.
This type of agreement is framed within CABEI's 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, specifically the Sustainable Competitiveness strategic axis, which seeks to intervene in the strengthening of the economic, social and institutional factors that determine regional competitiveness.
