CABEI to meet with the Nicaraguan private sector to identify work opportunities for the country's development
Managua, May 4th, 2022.- To identify joint actions with Nicaragua's private sector to promote economic and social development, a delegation from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), headed by its Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, will visit the country this week.
During the mission, several meetings are planned, including two work tables with the main financial institutions and the productive sector, as well as establishing a dialogue to unify strategic business relations and public-private collaboration.
"We are pleased to visit our founding partner Nicaragua again, this time the purpose is to strengthen ties with the private sector to achieve opportunities that translate into welfare for Nicaraguan families. With the meetings we have on the agenda we will identify initiatives to promote the growth of the sector and thus generate employment and development in the country; at the same time we will be sharing the mechanisms and working tools we have and that we are sure will be of great help to contribute to the recovery and revitalization of the economy," said Mossi.
CABEI in Nicaragua has significant active operations in the private sector with an active portfolio of US$119.28 million in 8 intermediary financial institutions.
One of the most innovative and helpful mechanisms for the economic recovery resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has been the Financial Sector Support Facility for the Financing of MSMEs, which to date has resulted in disbursements of US$72.6 million and the preservation of 36,509 jobs.
This type of meeting is in line with CABEI's 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, which aims to strengthen relations with the private sector at the regional level, so that CABEI becomes a reference in the mobilization of private resources and Foreign Direct Investment.
