CABEI backs social programs benefiting 250 Guatemalan children and youths
A donation will support the basic needs of at-risk families living in the capital city.
Guatemala City, July 9, 2021.- Contributing to the improvement of the social, nutritional and educational conditions of vulnerable groups in Guatemala, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a donation of 30,884.68 quetzals to the Puerta de Esperanza Association to support the development of social programs focused on prevention and care for socially at-risk families and to offer them a better quality of life.
These resources will be used to provide food, medical care and nutrition, as well as educational and recreational assistance for the benefit of 250 children and adolescents in conditions of extreme poverty, linked to 118 families residing around La Terminal market in zone 4 of Guatemala City.
"As a development bank, we plan to have a direct and immediate impact on the quality of life and well-being of children and young people in our region, providing them with opportunities that contribute to their integral development. Undoubtedly there is much to be done, but we must begin by recognizing the responsibility we all have to our society," commented CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.
The donation was presented by CABEI Director for Guatemala, Mr. Hugo Roberto Martínez Rebulla, who emphasized the Bank's commitment to continue supporting this type of social initiatives aimed at meeting the basic needs of children, adolescents and families living in vulnerable environments.
This donation is part of CABEI's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility System (SASC), which strategically addresses the challenges and opportunities that benefit the community and the region's environment.
