CABEI recognizes student winner of the Central American Academic Excellence Award

The young woman is an accounting student at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.

Santo Domingo, March 5th, 2021.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) recognized Dominican student Esther Carolina Henríquez Batista, who won the award for academic excellence in Central America. It is worth mentioning that 24 universities in the region participated in the fifteenth edition of the award.

Esther Carolina Henríquez Batista is a native of Santiago de los Caballeros. She completed her primary studies at the Luciano Díaz School and her secondary studies at the Don Bosco Industrial Polytechnic Institute. She entered the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo as an Accounting student, where she has excelled as an excellent student, whose merits stand out and are recognized with this important international award.

At 22 years old, she is a young woman who is passionate about reading because for her reading is growing up. She says that her parents, Rolando Henríquez and Teresa Batista, are her mainstay in her studies.

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, explains that the Bank encourages innovation and continuous improvement. CABEI recognizes the effort and commitment of Central American students who dedicate themselves to excel in difficult times of crisis. Currently, as a result of the pandemic in our countries, there are still gaps to close in terms of education, and the Bank is attentive to providing resources to countries to increase educational equality.

CABEI Director for the Dominican Republic, Hostos Rizik, expressed that it is a source of pride for the country that a young woman of only 22 years of age is receiving recognition of this magnitude. He emphasized that "this achievement sends a clear example to the youth of the Dominican Republic and the entire region that it is possible and that we must be proactive and competitive in order to achieve all our goals and dreams.”
