• CABEI provided a US$10,000 sponsorship to the Ministry of Culture and Youth to acquire the necessary technological equipment and conduct training workshops.

San José, March 27, 2025.- With the aim of strengthening the development of musical talent in Costa Rica and fostering innovation in the video game industry, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted a $10,000 sponsorship to the Ministry of Culture and Youth for the execution of a pilot plan in musical composition for video games and films.

This financial support will be used to acquire the MIDI technological equipment needed to implement the program, which will be executed by the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) in collaboration with the National Music Institute (INM) of the National Music Center (CNM). In addition, workshops will be held over the course of a year, giving students the opportunity to become familiar with new sound technologies, create sound effects, develop dubbing, and learn about the use of artificial intelligence in music production.

"CABEI recognizes the enormous potential of Costa Rican talent in the creative industry. With this contribution, we reaffirm our commitment to the development of innovative capacities that will enable Costa Rica to consolidate its position as a key player in the international video game and film industry," said CABEI Director for Costa Rica, Erwen Masís, during a symbolic activity in which the Bank's support for the procurement of the technological equipment was announced.

This sponsorship is in line with CABEI's Institutional Strategy, which aims to promote technological advances in the country while contributing to the strengthening of music education and fostering new economic development opportunities for Costa Rica's cultural sector in the field of technology and the arts.
