With these resources, the Bank seeks to promote the reactivation of productive sectors and foreign trade in Honduras.

Tegucigalpa, September 28, 2020.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved an extension of the Global Credit Line to Banco Financiera Centroamericana, S.A. (Banco Ficensa) of the Republic of Honduras, with an increase of US$9.2 million, to reach a total amount of US$36.0 million.

The availability of these resources will make it possible to finance operations within the framework of CABEI's financial intermediation programs with emphasis on productive sectors and foreign trade.

CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, expressed his pleasure in providing funds to partner banks that promote investments for development, "the investment sector to which Ficensa makes these resources available is remarkable. Due to the international situation, they will be promoting actions in productive and commercial areas specifically for this great employer, as is the case with the MIPYME.”

It is estimated that the implementation of these resources will benefit 89 additional legal entities, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 616. Likewise, each legal entity has an average of 133 jobs, which will benefit more than 80,000 people. The intervention would contribute to maintain 279 current permanent jobs, 65.0% of which are occupied by women.

The operation is framed in the CABEI 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, within the Sustainable Competitiveness Focus, contributing to the strategic objective of contributing to the inclusive economic growth.
