CABEI donates US$100,000 for the preparation, publication and dissemination of the Sixth State of the Region Report prepared in Costa Rica

Study will present priority and viable joint regional actions for Central American actors, among other issues of regional relevance.

San José, December 21, 2020. - The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) disbursed non-reimbursable technical cooperation to the National Council of Rectors (CONARE) of the Republic of Costa Rica in the amount of US$100,000 to finance the preparation, publication and dissemination of the Sixth State of the Region Report.

This study, which consolidates a platform for information, research and public opinion formation on sustainable human development (SHD) in Central America, was carried out during 2020 and is expected to be published in 2021.

The vision of the Report is to be a think tank dedicated to participatory research and innovation for the promotion of sustainable human development. To do this, it builds alliances with public and private organizations and international cooperation agencies in order to implement projects and activities that ensure methodological precision and appropriate conditions in the selection, measurement and evaluation of national and regional performance, or of specific topics in a relevant and sufficient set of issues related to sustainable human development, in its economic, political, environmental and social dimensions.

In addition, this edition will present priority and viable joint regional actions for Central American actors.

For the Executive President of CABEI, Dr. Dante Mossi, this contribution will support the efforts to know in a more detailed and closer way the needs and challenges that the region has.

"CABEI is the Central American Bank, so for us it is of vital importance to have first-hand high quality studies like this one that show us how we can continue to support them," explained Mossi.

The National Council of Rectors is a body created by the Agreement for the Coordination of State University Higher Education in Costa Rica, the State of the Nation Program (PEN) belongs to CONARE, and the executing agency designated to execute the funds of this cooperation will be the Foundation of the National Center for High Technology (FUNCENAT).
