Some of the initiatives include the promotion of projects that affect the development of human and institutional capacities.

Tegucigalpa August 20, 2020. - The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has made the first disbursement of US $ 500,000.00 from a cooperation of a total amount of US$2.5 million to the Regional Technical Assistance Center for Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic (CAPTAC-DR for its acronym in Spanish).

CAPTAC-RD is one of the regional centers created by the International Monetary Fund to offer technical assistance, institutional strengthening, and economic-financial integration to member countries. Currently, CAPTAC-DR covers seven areas of action: tax administration, customs administration, public financial management, financial supervision, central banking, national accounts statistics, and public finance statistics.

With the resources granted, CABEI hopes to contribute to the implementation of Phase III of the center, which will impact the development of human and institutional capacities of the member countries, which have been identified through the first two phases of CAPTAC-DR, as well as meetings with member countries, resulting in the basis for a national reform strategy for each country.

The priority defined for this phase II is to strengthen the following topics: inclusive growth, regional integration, fiscal policy, monetary policy and the financial sector.

The Executive President of CABEI, Dr. Dante Mossi, specified that with this cooperation CABEI plans to consolidate opportunities aimed at achieving progress in human and institutional capacities, crucial at this time to continue promoting the healthy development of the financial sector.
