San José, March 10, 2025.- In order to strengthen Costa Rica's productive sector and support its sustainability, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) disbursed US$25 million to Banco Promerica, which will channel the resources to seven companies that generate more than 1,000 jobs, of which more than 400 are occupied by women.
The financing will contribute to investment in equipment, infrastructure, and expansion of the operations of these companies, which are engaged in fruit cultivation, food processing, building construction, audiovisual production, and real estate; it will also support the purchase of equipment, acquisition of properties for planting and production, development of residential projects, and expansion of restaurants.
"As Costa Rica's main financial arm, we also support the private sector by reaffirming our commitment to economic, social and environmental strengthening, supporting small and large enterprises as the key driver of our economy through financial intermediation, which promotes access to credit under favorable conditions so that they can grow, innovate, and generate more job opportunities," said CABEI Country Manager in Costa Rica, Álvaro Alfaro.
For his part, Luis Carlos Rodríguez, Director of Finance and Operations at Banco Promerica, emphasized, "CABEI has been a key strategic partner throughout Banco Promerica's 30-year history, supporting initiatives that promote the development of MSMEs, SMEs, and green financing. This new disbursement of US$25 million will strengthen essential productive sectors, enabling companies to invest in strategic assets for their growth and sustainability. We are grateful for the support of one of the region's most important development banks, whose confidence enables us to continue providing financial solutions with a positive impact on the economy and employment.
With this disbursement, CABEI reinforces its role as a strategic ally of the productive sector in Costa Rica, facilitating access to financing to promote the growth and stability of companies by promoting innovative financial solutions that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
