The Bank will provide food, hygiene and cleaning supplies to groups living in poverty in the department of San Juan Sacatepéquez.

Guatemala City, July 26, 2021.- As part of its commitment to ensure the well-being of children in the region, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a donation of 30,895.72 quetzales to the Passion Guatemala Association to support the operation of its Center for the Prevention of Childhood Malnutrition and Human Promotion, which currently serves low-income children.

"We are aware of the great challenges in human development that the region faces, which is why CABEI will continue to support the work of social programs that favor children and youth, strengthening actions that improve the health, nutrition and education conditions of those most in need," commented CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.

This donation will provide food and hygiene and cleaning supplies to 400 children residing in the Asunción Chivoc hamlet in the department of San Juan Sacatepéquez, as well as timely follow-up to ensure their nutritional recovery through the medical clinics that are also part of the Association's activities.

The donation was presented by CABEI Director for Guatemala, Mr. Hugo Roberto Martínez Rebulla, who emphasized that "this contribution will help support children and their families who are going through difficult times, a situation that has worsened due to the pandemic conditions we are currently experiencing and in which many people have lost their jobs. CABEI will continue to support this type of causes in order to bring welfare and meet the basic needs of children, young people and women."

With this type of initiative, CABEI continues to join efforts and bring hope to Guatemala's most vulnerable population by prioritizing attention to social factors that influence quality of life, such as food security, health, housing and education.
