Guatemala City, April 4, 2025. – In commemoration of the bicentenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Colombia and the Republic of Guatemala, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) celebrated this important milestone by reaffirming its commitment to regional integration and bilateral cooperation between its member countries.

As part of the commemoration, CABEI supported the initiative of the Colombian Embassy in Guatemala to organize a cultural evening that took place in the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez auditorium of the Francisco Marroquín University. The event brought together more than 600 attendees, including members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, government authorities, businessmen, representatives of international organizations and members of the Colombian community living in Guatemala.

The renowned Antioquia Folkloric Ballet, made up of 28 professional artists, was in charge of the main event of the night. It offered a vibrant show that fused music, dance, and tradition. The presentation transported the audience on a cultural journey through the different regions of Colombia, highlighting its ethnic, musical, and dance diversity and the value of its cultural heritage as a fundamental part of its national identity.

Through this activity, CABEI ratifies its conviction that promoting culture, strengthening diplomatic ties, and promoting regional development projects are key elements in moving towards more inclusive and cohesive societies with greater opportunities for economic and social development.
