CABEI supports medical assistance for children with cancer in Nicaragua

Through a donation of US$ 5,000.00 to the Nicaraguan Commission for the Aid of Children with Cancer and Leukemia (CONANCA), the purchase of tests for the diagnostic process will be facilitated.

Managua, November 1ts 2022 .- In order to provide timely medical treatment to 600 children who are treated at the Oncology Department of the Manuel de Jesús Rivera "La Mascota" National Reference Children's Hospital, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a donation of US$5,000.00 to the Nicaraguan Commission for the Aid of Children with Cancer and Leukemia (CONANCA).

With these resources, the authorities will purchase 2,000 blood biometry tests, used for the diagnosis of diseases such as leukemia, anemia, infections, among others; as well as the payment of the personnel that accompanies CONANCA's actions.

"We are very pleased to be able to support children who fight tirelessly against this disease, so that they can receive comprehensive and quality medical services. We will continue to support noble causes such as these that allow us to improve the quality of life of children, the future of our region," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

The multilateral, through various actions in 2022, has supported non-profit organizations and vulnerable groups at risk. The donation, on this occasion, was delivered by CABEI's Nicaragua Country Office, as part of its efforts to contribute to the well-being of Nicaraguan children.

CONANCA is a civil association that has been providing comprehensive care to children referred to the Manuel de Jesús Rivera "La Mascota" National Children's Hospital since 1995.
