CABEI supports Guatemala's construction sector with new credit opportunities

Through a new disbursement of US$10 million to BANRURAL, infrastructure companies have the opportunity to access working capital loans.

Guatemala City, May 3rd, 2022.-  Reaffirming its role as the region's main provider of financial resources, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a new disbursement to its financial ally Banco de Desarrollo Rural (BANRURAL) in the amount of US$10 million to provide financing to companies in the construction sector, thereby contributing to Guatemala's economic dynamism.

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, commented, "Operational alliances with the financial intermediation network are an effective mechanism for channeling financial and technical resources to strategic sectors in Guatemala and Central America. CABEI will continue to support the business and MSME sector by providing financial solutions that contribute to job creation and thus improve people's wellbeing and quality of life."

Through this financing, Guatemalan companies will have the opportunity to increase their competitiveness and productivity by improving their installed capacity, meeting their credit needs starting at US$1 million. It is estimated that approximately 50 jobs will be protected through this disbursement.

The intermediation of financial resources is aligned with CABEI's 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, in the Sustainable Competitiveness strategic axis, which seeks to intervene in the strengthening of the economic, social and institutional factors that determine regional competitiveness.
