San José, May 10, 2019 - The 3rd Electric Mobility Citizen Festival is an activity co-organized by the Costa Rican Association of Electric Mobility (ASOMOVE) and Costa Rica Limpia with support from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Banco Promérica and Avenida Escazú.

The activity will offer an educational experience, informing attendees about the benefits of electric transportation, its practical operation and the experiences of Costa Rican users. In addition, the event will publicize different options of cars, motorcycles and electric bicycles, as well as other products and related services available in the market.

Electric mobility represents an opportunity for Costa Rica since it allows to reduce hydrocarbon consumption, improve air quality and meet climate goals. Likewise, electric vehicles with zero emissions, do not pollute, while generating significant savings in fuel and maintenance costs with a better performance vehicle compared to those that use regular combustion.

In this sense, CABEI promotes electric and sustainable mobility as part of its Institutional Strategy "Integrating Sustainable Development and Competitiveness," supporting the public and private sectors of its member countries to implement initiatives aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The Festival will have the participation of electric vehicle agencies, such as BMW, BYD, Purdy Motors, Audi, Hyundai, Nissan, EV Imports, Landreni Autos, Zero Motorcycles, Wild Bikes and Green Bikes, as well as  charging companies, such as Ion Chargers, Costa Rica Mechatronics Systems, Z Automotores and the Ecactronica repair and maintenance institute. In addition, financial institutions will be present at the event, including Banco Promérica and the electricity company Grupo ICE, which will have stands to attend to queries and concerns of visitors.

The Festival will be held on May 11 and 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. at Avenida Escazú where visitors can attend lectures to learn from the experiences of other users regarding the operation, myths and advantages of electric vehicles.

Festival attendees will be able to test drive the vehicles of the  different agencies and with citizens who already use electric vehicles in their daily lives. In addition, a presentation will be made about the different recharging methods of these vehicles and the stations available throughout the Costa Rican territory.

The Festival is free and open to all public; families are cordially invited to participate. The two-day event will also feature activities for children and concerts with Chillax and Mustang 75 respectively starting at 3:00 p.m.
