The Report features a special chapter on education that seeks to answer the question: How to improve educational coverage, quality and relevance, while taking advantage of the "demographic bonus" in a context of low fiscal capacity to increase public investment.

The Report is a collective effort that took approximately 24 months and involved more than 600 people from all the countries in the region; these people directly participated from the definition of the agenda and research preparation up to the discussion of preliminary study drafts and review of final report texts at regional consultation meetings and workshops.

The Report does not represent a picture of reality, but rather a selective documentation of processes, which establish and detail what the different social, economic, political and institutional actors have carried out in the recent past, and the imprint left by them on the Isthmus’s development. The report seeks to be a useful tool for re (learning) the region’s reality, challenges and opportunities, which transcend territorial boundaries between countries and lay the foundation for social and political dialogue processes that foster Central America’s sustainable human development.

The complete report, research and databases that served as inputs for the preparation of this report will be available on August 3 at www.estadonacion.or.cr and social media networks.
